Creative Direction, Content creation, Notch FXs & Server Programming/Operation
The Bonvehi Arts & Events team was approached by RvFv's manager to handle the AV production for a highly anticipated concert. Subsequently, Noxfera Studio reached me out to collaborate on the creative direction for one of the most renowned artists in the Reggaeton scene. The artist aimed to deliver a spectacular hometown performance in Almeria to conclude his summer tour.
To kick off the artistic direction for the concert, we held an initial meeting with the artist's manager. He outlined the concept they envisioned and shared content from previous shows to guide us in crafting the perfect lighting and visual elements.
Isidro from Noxfera and I were aligned in our vision: we wanted to blend live camera feeds with immersive IMAG FXs. Isidro devised a stunning setup featuring a large background LED screen accompanied by three horizontal LED screens in front. This configuration allowed us to either synchronize content across all screens or create a captivating depth effect by merging background visuals with live camera shots on the horizontal screens.
For Laura, Isidro, and me, maintaining control over every aspect of the show was paramount. We meticulously planned the camera shots for each song and its various segments.
I crafted the majority of the content and IMAG FXs using Notch, incorporating Nvidia's incredible Background Removal feature to isolate the artist's silhouette and create mesmerizing effects. We used Disguise GX2C for playback, and everything was programmed with TimeCode to ensure flawless synchronization of pyrotechnics, lights, visuals, and camera cuts. Laura used CuePilot to seamlessly switch camera angles, enhancing our control over the IMAG FXs.
The main challenge was the tight timeline—creating content, lighting, and camera scripts for over 20 songs in just four weeks. Notch proved indispensable, offering unparalleled versatility and rendering speed without compromising quality.
The artist is still touring with the content created for this concert during his Spanish tour in 2024.
